Gentle application matters more than extra swipes

Pads are optional, and skincare can make pores less noticeable rather than promise to erase them. Start cautiously with one exfoliant, follow its label, and avoid vigorous rubbing, eyes, lips and damaged skin. Retinol, prescription retinoids and benzoyl peroxide can make extra exfoliation harder to tolerate. Stop if irritated, moisturize, and use broad-spectrum SPF 30 or higher. Ask a dermatologist if your skin is reactive or you are unsure whether exfoliation belongs in your routine.

Check Amazon for the current price of the Heartleaf70 pads205mL current white/green jar.

Check Amazon price ↗Affiliate link · We may earn a commission.

Anua combines gluconolactone, a PHA, with heartleaf and centella in a dual-sided pad. It offers a PHA-led alternative to the multi-acid formulas here, although the undisclosed strength prevents a reliable potency comparison.

  • Gluconolactone (PHA)
  • 70 pads · 205 mL
  • Heartleaf and centella
The tradeoff

Botanical ingredients can still irritate. The acid concentration is undisclosed; do not treat sensitive-skin marketing as a guarantee. Check the current 205 mL jar against older 160 mL stock.

Check Amazon for the current price of the 60 Count Pack of1; current aqua Brighten+Glow jar.

Glycolic and lactic acids make these an alternative to salicylate-led pads when dullness and surface texture are the priority. The current aqua jar is the Brighten + Glow version, with aloe and cucumber water in its base.

  • Glycolic and lactic acids
  • 60-pad current formula
  • Aloe and cucumber water
The tradeoff

The acid percentages are undisclosed. Citrus extracts and acids can still irritate, and older Facial Radiance reviews may describe a previous formula.

Check Amazon for the current price of the Zero Pore Pads70 Count Pack of1,155g blue-lid standard.

Check Amazon price ↗Affiliate link · We may earn a commission.

The standard blue-lid Zero Pore Pad combines lactic acid and salicylic acid with a textured and a smoother side. Panthenol and allantoin are also listed, but the overall formula matters more than any single soothing ingredient.

  • Lactic and salicylic acids
  • 70 pads · 155 g
  • Dual-sided surface
The tradeoff

Contains denatured alcohol and several fragrant oils, including citrus and lavender. This would not be our first choice for fragrance-reactive or already irritated skin.
