Plan the rear speakers before choosing the system

Check where both rear speakers and their power cables will go. Wireless signal transmission usually still needs mains power; rechargeable JBL rears need charging instead. Confirm your TV’s ARC/eARC support and audio passthrough for each connected source. Ceiling-reflected height effects depend on the room, and advertised channel counts do not establish sound quality. Budget for any required stands or mounts. These are complete soundbar packages, not receiver-and-passive-speaker systems. Keep your current setup if rear placement would create more problems than it solves.

Sony’s complete package puts the main connections in the subwoofer. A separate rear amplifier receives the signal wirelessly, while both rear speakers connect to that box by cable. Consider it if physical surround matters more to you than extra HDMI sockets or dedicated upward-firing drivers.

Bring the rechargeable rear speakers out for a film and return them to the bar afterward. That can suit a shared living room where permanent rear power cables would be awkward. The US package includes the 12-inch subwoofer and offers three HDMI source inputs.
